Confirmation
Christian Education and discipleship for 7th and 8th graders
Confirmation at Bethlehem is a two year process for our young people that culminates (if they wish) in a service of Remembrance of Baptism called "confirmation" in which the young person is reminded of the promises God has made to them and publicly claims as their own the promises made for them by parents and sponsors when they were Baptized.
- Weekly confirmation classes happen Wednesday nights from 6-7:45pm as part of Akaloo (see above)
- We also meet monthly with confirmation classes from all over Spokane on the second Sunday of the month from 4-6pm at Central Lutheran for "Second Sunday" www.SecondSundaySpokane.org
Adult Education
All classes open to everyone (no experience necessary)
If you are interested in a "Basics of Faith" class, let the pastor know
2007-2008 Schedule
- Reading the Book of Acts
- Living Lutheran
Drawing off our experience reading the Book of Acts, we will read "Living Lutheran: Renewing your congregation" by Rev. Dave Daubert. Together we will seek to hear the call of God for us as people and for our congregation.
Reading the Gospel of Matthew
Starting after Living Lutheran (around Feb 6th)
The Gospel of Matthew is the source of most of our Gospel readings during worship this year. Together we will explore this book, and continue to develop our abilities to listen for and talk about what we hear God saying to us through the scriptures. Our questions for this study will be: "What does this passage tell us about God?" and "What does this passage tell us about God's dream for me or for the world?" Everyone is welcome--beginning Bible readers encouraged (come learn from our wise masters!)
